Google Pixel Tablet Launch

Google Pixel Tablet Launch — Social & community launch

Role: Social & Community Manager, Devices & Services (full-time)

Challenge: With the Pixel Tablet’s debut, Google needed to educate and excite users about a brand-new product category in the Pixel ecosystem. Unlike Pixel Phones or Watches, there was no pre-existing community of Tablet users to activate. My goal was to:
1) seed early adoption and
2) establish the Tablet as an integral part of the Pixel family.

What I Did:

  • Launched the Pixel Tablet’s dedicated community website, seeding content and training moderators to grow it into a hub for Q&A, tips, and feedback from day one.

  • Designed and executed social & community’s go-to-market strategy, including preparing content for guided discussion topics, feature highlights, and support content to spotlight unique use cases for @MadeByGoogle on X.

  • Recruited 45+ Product Experts (super users from Reddit and other Google communities) to provide user-generated content, tutorials, and solutions to first-wave adopters. Coordinated early-access for these experts so they would be educated and have the tools they needed to create content on Day 1.

  • Led cross-channel integration with Reddit and other social communities to spark user-generated conversation and extend the launch beyond official forums.

  • Collaborated with product and marketing teams to capture and escalate real-time launch feedback on Social, ensuring issues and opportunities from the community were surfaced quickly.

Impact:

  • Strengthened our social community, with 20%+ growth in cross-device discussions on our channels and 12%+ increase in overall community engagement compared to prior launches.

  • Established a thriving Pixel Tablet community from launch on @MadeByGoogle and our 1st party site.

  • Increased early adoption confidence by recruiting and enabling 45 users from social to test he device ahead of time and contribute 100+ Accepted Solutions in the community’s launch phase

  • Delivered 75+ feedback reports from early testers that directly informed product updates and fixes.
